Cummins ISL Turbo and Related Components Catalog

The Cummins ISL engine is a versatile and highly efficient diesel powerplant widely used in marine, industrial, and heavy-duty applications. A critical component of its performance is the turbocharger system, which increases power output, enhances fuel efficiency, and ensures clean combustion. At Diesel Pro Power, we provide a complete catalog of Cummins ISL turbocharger components—from mounting gaskets and studs to clamps and high-temperature sealants—ensuring that your engine runs reliably in even the most demanding conditions.

With over 40,000 satisfied customers worldwide, Diesel Pro Power is the trusted source for authentic, high-quality Cummins ISL parts. Whether you are rebuilding, upgrading, or repairing, our turbocharger component selection offers everything you need to keep your engine performing at peak efficiency.

The Role of the Turbocharger in Cummins ISL Engines

The turbocharger plays a central role in the ISL’s power and efficiency. By compressing incoming air before it enters the combustion chamber, the turbo allows more fuel to be burned, which results in:

Increased horsepower without enlarging the engine
Better torque for heavy-duty marine and industrial workloads
Improved fuel economy
Reduced emissions due to more complete combustion

To support these benefits, every seal, fastener, and gasket in the turbo system must be designed to handle extreme temperatures, high pressures, and continuous vibration. That is why it’s essential to use high-quality, engine-specific parts like those found in our catalog.

Turbo Mounting Gaskets for Cummins ISL Engines

Turbo mounting gaskets are responsible for sealing the connection between the turbocharger and the engine manifold. A secure seal prevents exhaust gas leaks, which can lead to reduced efficiency, overheating, and turbo failure.

Water-Cooled Turbo Gaskets

For ISL engines equipped with water-cooled turbos, specialized gaskets are used to ensure proper sealing under high-heat and coolant-exposed conditions. These gaskets are made from advanced materials designed to resist warping and breakdown, even in marine environments where constant temperature fluctuations are common.

Standard Turbo Mounting Gaskets

In addition to water-cooled configurations, we also supply standard turbo mounting gaskets for non-water-cooled ISL setups. These are engineered to withstand high exhaust gas pressures, providing a reliable seal that minimizes the risk of blowouts.

Key Benefits of Diesel Pro Power Turbo Gaskets:

Heat-resistant materials built for extreme duty cycles
Long-lasting performance under constant vibration
Prevents leaks that can reduce turbo efficiency
Designed specifically for Cummins ISL and QSL engines

Turbo Mounting Studs for Cummins ISL Engines

Mounting studs are small but critical components in the turbo system. They secure the turbocharger to the exhaust manifold, ensuring a precise fit and preventing movement under heavy load.

When turbo studs wear, corrode, or shear off, the turbo can shift or vibrate excessively, leading to gasket failure, loss of boost pressure, and even damage to the turbo itself. Replacing worn studs with high-quality Cummins ISL-specific studs is an important step in any rebuild or repair.

Features of ISL Turbo Studs from Diesel Pro Power:

High-strength steel construction for long service life
Corrosion-resistant finish for marine and industrial use
Precision-threaded for easy installation and secure fit
Designed for ISL and QSL turbo mounting applications

Turbo Mounting Nuts for Cummins ISL Engines

Turbo mounting nuts work alongside the studs to lock the turbo in place. They must withstand high heat, extreme vibration, and constant pressure changes. Standard nuts are not sufficient for turbo applications; only heat-treated, high-strength fasteners should be used.

Advantages of ISL Turbo Nuts:

Engineered for thermal expansion and contraction cycles
Secure fit to prevent loosening over time
Resistant to stripping and galling during installation
Designed specifically to match Cummins turbo studs

High-Temperature Jointing Compounds

In some turbo applications, a high-temperature jointing compound provides an additional layer of sealing protection. These compounds are applied to flange surfaces, threads, and gasket joints to prevent leaks under severe heat and pressure.

For Cummins ISL turbocharger systems, a high-quality sealant can:

Fill microscopic gaps between metal surfaces
Resist temperatures well above 500°C
Provide long-term durability against thermal cycling
Prevent exhaust leaks that reduce engine performance

This type of compound is often used alongside turbo gaskets in high-performance or high-load applications, such as marine engines operating continuously at high RPMs.

Turbo System Clamps for Cummins ISL Engines

Clamps play an essential role in securing turbo system components like filters, hoses, and charge-air piping. A loose or worn clamp can cause boost leaks, leading to reduced power, increased fuel consumption, and even turbo overspeed conditions.

The Cummins ISL clamp selection includes:

4-inch diameter filter clamps for secure attachment of filtration components
Heavy-duty steel construction to resist corrosion in marine environments
Precision fit to prevent vibration-related loosening

Using the correct size and style of clamp ensures proper airflow, reduces the risk of leaks, and maintains consistent turbocharger performance.

Maintenance Tips for Cummins ISL Turbo Systems

To extend the life of your ISL turbocharger and related components, consider the following maintenance practices:

Regular Inspection – Check for exhaust leaks, loose studs, or gasket deterioration.
Monitor Boost Pressure – Sudden drops in boost may indicate a leak or failing turbo component.
Use Proper Lubrication – Ensure oil feed lines are clean and free of restrictions.
Replace Worn Fasteners – Always replace old studs and nuts when servicing the turbo.
Check Clamps Frequently – Vibration can loosen clamps; inspect them during routine maintenance.
