Complete Cummins KTA50 Gasket Kits

Upper Gasket Set for Cummins KTA50 Engines

The Upper Gasket Set for Cummins KTA50 includes all gaskets and seals required to service the cylinder heads and top-end of the engine. It is a crucial component in any major overhaul, especially when addressing cylinder head wear, head gasket failure, or coolant/oil cross-contamination.

Included Components:

Cylinder head gaskets (typically six for KTA50)
Rocker lever cover gaskets
Cam follower housing gaskets
Injector sleeve seals
Valve cover seals
Exhaust manifold gaskets
Intake manifold gaskets

Each component in this upper gasket set is manufactured using high-quality materials designed to withstand the high combustion pressures and elevated temperatures of the KTA50’s 50-liter displacement engine.

Lower Gasket Set for Cummins KTA50

The Lower Gasket Set includes the gaskets required to reseal the engine block, oil pan, and other lower-end assemblies. This is essential during full engine rebuilds or when disassembling the crankcase and oil cooling components.

Included in this set:

Oil pan gasket
Rear main seal housing gasket
Front cover gaskets
Crankshaft seals
Gear cover gaskets (front and rear)
Oil cooler seals and o-rings

The lower gasket set ensures that oil flow remains contained and prevents leaks at high RPM and load conditions—especially important in marine and generator applications where uptime is critical.

Individual KTA50 Gaskets and Related Components

Cummins Head Gasket for KTA50

Each head gasket for the Cummins KTA50 engine is designed for precise compression sealing. With a V16 layout, six individual head gaskets are typically required. These gaskets are multi-layer steel (MLS) or graphite-reinforced, depending on model year and configuration.

Why it matters:

Ensures proper cylinder compression
Prevents coolant intrusion into combustion chambers
Resists blow-by under extreme pressures

Installation tip: Always inspect the cylinder head and block deck surfaces for warping or pitting before reassembly.

Rocker Lever Cover Gasket

This gasket ensures a leak-proof seal for the rocker lever cover, which houses the rocker arms responsible for valve actuation. Due to the high oil flow in this area, a reliable gasket is essential for keeping oil inside the valve train area and avoiding contamination or environmental leaks.

Turbo & Exhaust System Gaskets

Exhaust Manifold Gaskets & Outlet Connection Gaskets

The Exhaust Manifold Gasket and Exhaust Manifold Outlet Connection Gasket are heat-resistant components designed to seal the turbocharger and exhaust piping to the manifold.

Withstands extreme exhaust temperatures
Prevents dangerous exhaust leaks
Reduces pressure loss before the turbo

Use these gaskets during turbocharger swaps or manifold maintenance to avoid system inefficiencies or heat-related damage.

Turbo Mounting Gasket

The turbo mounting gasket is designed for water-cooled turbochargers, commonly used in marine KTA50 applications to reduce exhaust gas temperatures and improve longevity. It provides a tight seal between the turbo and manifold while allowing for coolant circulation.

Fuel System Gaskets

Injector Installation Kit

This injector installation kit includes gaskets and seals for installing high-pressure fuel injectors in KTA50 and QSK variants. Leaks at the injector ports can lead to combustion pressure loss or contamination of the fuel rail. This kit ensures a precise, sealed injector fit every time.

Fuel Pump Regulator Gasket Set

Used for resealing the regulator on mechanical or PT-type fuel pumps, this gasket set includes all necessary O-rings and flat gaskets to prevent fuel leaks and maintain system pressure integrity.

Fuel Pump Coupling Gasket

This fuel pump gasket is a flat gasket that fits between the engine and the mechanical fuel pump or coupling housing. A small component with big responsibility—failure can lead to a pressurized fuel leak and reduced engine efficiency.

Oil System Gaskets

Oil Pan Gasket

Made of high-strength rubber or fiber-reinforced material, the oil pan gasket ensures the pan seals flush against the lower crankcase. It's designed to prevent oil seepage due to vibration or thermal cycling in marine and stationary engines.

Oil Pan Adapter Gasket

This adapter gasket fits between the pan and adapter housing—an area often overlooked during rebuilds. A leaking adapter gasket can mimic a pan leak and lead to unnecessary troubleshooting.

Oil Cooler Cover Gasket & O-Rings

Essential for sealing the oil cooler cover to the housing, this gasket plays a vital role in keeping the oil temperature regulated. The accompanying oil cooler o-rings ensure proper sealing of coolant and oil passageways without cross-contamination.

Gear Train & Camshaft Gaskets

Gear Cover Gaskets (Upper and Lower)

The upper and lower gear cover gaskets seal the timing gear housings. With gear-driven fuel pumps, water pumps, and camshafts, maintaining proper oil retention in this area is crucial for long-term durability.

Cam Follower Cover Gasket

Installed over the tappet access area, this gasket ensures no oil escapes during high-speed engine operation. It also prevents dirt and debris from entering the cam follower housing.

Crankshaft Hole Cover Gasket

Seals the inspection cover over the crankshaft access point, often opened during major services like main bearing inspections.

Cooling System Gaskets

Thermostat Gasket

The thermostat gasket creates a leak-free seal between the housing and the engine block. It must withstand continuous exposure to coolant and temperature cycling from ambient to over 200°F.

Pro Tip: Replace the thermostat gasket any time you service or replace the thermostat to ensure proper sealing.

Valve Train Gaskets

Rocker Lever Housing Gasket

Provides sealing between the rocker lever housing and cylinder head. This is where oil is directed to lubricate the rocker arms, making it a critical gasket for managing internal oil flow.

Engine Sealants and Gasket Makers

Gasket Spray – High Tack Sealant

This high tack gasket spray helps hold paper or cork gaskets in place during installation. It also improves the sealing surface by filling small imperfections between surfaces.

Ideal for cylinder head or oil pan gaskets
Use on both sides for enhanced adhesion
Compatible with diesel oil and coolant

Liquid Sealant – 3H Gasket Maker

For areas where a traditional gasket may not be ideal, the 3H liquid sealant offers a pliable yet durable sealing layer. Use for sealing machined surfaces or minor pitting on flanges.

Threadlocker Red – High Strength

While technically not a gasket, this high-strength threadlocker is crucial for securing fasteners—especially in the vibration-prone environments of marine and industrial generators. It is used on bolts in sealed assemblies like cam followers or gear covers.

Advanced Silicone Gasket Makers

Silicone Sensor Safe RTV – Ultra Blue and High-Temp

These silicone-based gasket makers provide long-lasting, flexible seals around sensitive engine components:

Sensor Safe RTV: Won’t damage oxygen or temperature sensors.
Ultra Blue RTV: Excellent for vibration-prone areas.
High-Temp RTV: Withstands turbocharger and exhaust temperatures exceeding 600°F.

Perfect for customizing gasket solutions where factory options may be unavailable.

Non-Hardening Pliable Sealant

This non-hardening sealant remains pliable under vibration and heat—ideal for sealing aging gaskets or sealing flanges with imperfect surfaces.

Cold Weld Epoxy (J-B Weld)

For emergency gasket repair or permanent sealing of non-moving components, J-B Weld cold weld provides a high-strength metal-to-metal bond. Use it on housing cracks, stripped bolt holes, or deformed mating surfaces where gaskets alone won’t suffice.

Choosing the Right Gasket Kit for Your Cummins KTA50
