Detroit Diesel Oil Pump for Series 60 12.7L

The oil pump is the heart of the Series 60’s lubrication system. It draws oil from the sump, pressurizes it, and circulates it through the engine’s oil galleries, ensuring that every critical component remains lubricated. A properly functioning oil pump prevents metal-to-metal contact, reduces friction, and maintains optimal operating temperatures.

Diesel Pro Power’s oil pump for the Detroit Diesel Series 60 12.7L is precision-engineered for consistent flow rates and maximum durability. It’s built to withstand high loads and the rigorous demands of heavy-duty trucking, industrial, and marine applications. Each unit is thoroughly inspected and tested before shipment to guarantee correct pressure output and fitment.

Key benefits include:

OEM-grade pressure and flow performance
Heavy-duty cast construction for long service life
Designed for both over-the-road and stationary applications
Compatible with the 12.7L variant of the Series 60 engine
Simple installation and exact bolt pattern alignment

Oil Pump Gasket for Series 60

Every oil pump installation requires a reliable gasket to prevent leaks between the pump housing and engine block. The oil pump gasket for the Series 60 is made from high-grade materials resistant to heat, oil saturation, and pressure fluctuations. A proper seal ensures optimal oil pressure and protects against air leaks that could compromise pump efficiency.

Highlights:

Designed to fit the Detroit Diesel Series 60 oil pump housing precisely
Resistant to deformation under temperature extremes
Easy to install during regular maintenance or overhaul

Elbow Valve Assembly for Series 60

The Elbow Valve Assembly serves a vital function within the lubrication circuit, maintaining proper oil direction and pressure routing. Its design ensures steady oil flow to various parts of the engine, especially under high-load conditions.

Features:

Constructed for high-pressure oil systems
Corrosion-resistant materials to withstand long-term exposure
Integral to maintaining oil system efficiency and performance

Oil Pressure Regulator Valve for Series 60

Oil pressure regulation is essential to the health of any engine, especially a large displacement engine like the Series 60. The Oil Pressure Regulator Valve ensures that the system maintains a stable pressure level—typically between 40–60 PSI depending on temperature and RPM—protecting the bearings and valvetrain from excessive oil flow or starvation.

Product details:

Precision-calibrated spring and plunger mechanism
Designed for direct compatibility with the Series 60 12.7L engine
Built from heat-treated alloy for superior longevity
Prevents pressure spikes during cold starts or heavy acceleration

Oil Pan Gaskets for Series 60

The oil pan gasket provides the seal between the engine block and oil pan, preventing oil leakage at the lowest point of the lubrication system. Diesel Pro Power offers durable options in both composite and rubberized materials.

Available gasket styles include:

Standard composite gasket – Ideal for standard rebuilds and maintenance
Rubber oil pan gasket (black) – Enhanced flexibility and resistance to compression set, ideal for long-term sealing under heavy vibration

Both styles ensure a tight, leak-free seal that protects the crankcase and maintains oil cleanliness.

Gasket for Oil Pressure Regulator

The oil pressure regulator gasket maintains a sealed connection around the pressure control assembly. This small but essential component ensures there are no oil leaks or drops in system pressure at the regulator’s base.

Why it matters:

Prevents oil seepage under high pressure
Maintains correct system calibration
Simplifies reinstallation during overhaul

Oil Relief Valve

The oil relief valve provides an additional safeguard against excessive pressure buildup. By opening under high-pressure conditions, it allows oil to bypass and return safely to the sump, protecting seals and gaskets from potential damage.

Applications:

Compatible with Detroit Diesel Series 60 12.7L
Also suitable for other Detroit Diesel families such as the 6V71, 8V71, 6V92, and 8V92 engines
Machined for accurate pressure response and reliability under varying oil viscosities

Isolator for Series 60

The isolator component supports the oil system assembly by minimizing vibration transfer between the engine and its mounting hardware. This ensures steady oil pressure readings and prevents premature wear on gauges and fittings.

Advantages:

Designed to absorb vibration and mechanical stress
Extends life of sensors and fittings connected to the oil system
Simple bolt-on installation

Oil Filter for Series 60

The oil filter captures contaminants, soot, and microscopic particles before they can recirculate through the engine. A clean oil filter maintains oil quality and extends the lifespan of internal components such as camshafts, bearings, and piston rings.

Product highlights:

Spin-on design for easy replacement
Built-in anti-drain back valve to retain oil during shutdown
Heavy-duty filtration media rated for the Series 60’s high oil volume
Compatible with standard oil filter wrenches for simple removal

Oil Filter Removal Wrench

For maintenance convenience, Diesel Pro Power offers an adjustable oil filter wrench that fits filters ranging from 4-21/32” to 5-5/32”. Its robust construction makes it suitable for high-torque removal without damaging filter housings.

Oil Coolers for Series 60

The oil cooler plays a critical role in thermal management by dissipating heat from the lubricating oil before it returns to the engine. The Series 60 engine uses plate-type oil coolers, available in multiple configurations such as 8-, 10-, and 11-plate variants.

8-Plate Oil Cooler:
Ideal for standard-duty applications, maintaining efficient oil temperature control during moderate load conditions.

10-Plate Oil Cooler:
Enhanced capacity for extended operation, ideal for vehicles in continuous service or operating in warm environments.

11-Plate Oil Cooler:
Maximum cooling capacity for high-performance or heavy-duty industrial applications, ensuring consistent viscosity and reduced thermal stress.

Each oil cooler is constructed from corrosion-resistant alloys and pressure-tested to prevent leaks and cross-contamination between oil and coolant systems.

Oil Cooler Installation Kit

The installation kit includes seals, bolts, and hardware needed to replace or install the oil cooler on the Series 60. Each kit ensures correct alignment and sealing, preventing potential leaks that can compromise oil pressure.

Dipstick for Series 60
